Leopard: The Classic Neutral You Didn’t Know You Needed

Leopard print has been part of fashion for nearly 80 years, and for me, it has always felt like a classic neutral.

I remember my grandmother showing me photographs of the beautiful outfits she made for my mother. She and my grandfather were tailors from Armenia, and my mother had the most gorgeous wardrobe—especially the pieces they created for her honeymoon in October 1961.

One outfit I remember vividly was a red ensemble my mother wore to the airport, complete with a leopard-print pillbox hat. That image has stayed with me all these years, and from that moment on, I started viewing leopard as a neutral, because it works with many colors.

A touch of leopard can instantly elevate an outfit. A hat, scarf, hair accessory, or even a pair of shoes can be just the right finishing touch. You don't necessarily need an entire leopard-print outfit—in fact, sometimes that's simply too much.

Just one touch can make an outfit feel instantly more luxe, stylish and a little bit sassy.

It's the same way I love leopard in home décor. I find myself using just a touch of it in home décor, too—a leopard pillow or a small accent piece, like a votive or a perfume tray.

It's timeless, a little unexpected, and effortlessly chic.

Maybe that's why I've never really thought of leopard as a trend.

To me, leopard is a classic neutral. Try a small accessory! Because sometimes, all an outfit needs is one fabulous little touch. 🐆
